I love investing in many types of websites, but why is it that I don’t like to invest in advertising websites in particular?
Is it because they are simply crappy business models? Well no, some people are actually killing by buying these types of websites.
Could it be that I don’t have the time? Well maybe . . . but to truly break it down and understand why I don’t invest in advertising websites and why It may or may not be the best decision for you too. Read through these 4 reasons which you might just resonate with.
1. They Don’t Interest Me
To put it bluntly, I don’t invest in advertising websites because they just don’t interest me.
Which means that when I first started learning how to buy websites for passive income and how different types of websites would make money in different ways. There were other types of online business models that stood out and attracted my attention over the advertising website model.
That is not to say that it is a bad idea to invest in advertising websites, I just never believed that I would like to invest in advertising websites. Rather the website business models I do prefer and do interest me are the membership, affiliate and drop ship methods.
2. I Am Not An Advertising Website Guru
One of the reasons I believe that I never decided to invest in advertising websites or that they didn’t tickle my fancy. Is because I hadn’t taken my time to break them down either and really analyze how they work, why they work and if they are reasonably efficient business models or not.
Since I haven’t taken the time to really sink my teeth into these, I am yet to know all the ins and outs of how to actually run or invest in advertising websites. Other than the basics of course where the website needs a high amount of traffic coming to it, and the ads also need to be highly targeted ads to that websites audience, which is a no brainer. But I am sure that there is far more too it than just that with the various types of PPC and CPM ads ect.
Don’t get me wrong though, If these types of websites did start to interest me it would not take me long at all to study how these advertising websites run economically and pick a few winning ones to invest in. However at this point in time, I don’t want to work on something that doesn’t draw me.
3. Working With Advertisers & Their Software
From what I do understand, great money can be made when you invest in advertising websites should you also know how deal and negotiate directly with advertisers to get a far better deal/profit on each ad campaign for the website.
On top of that, working with advertising software like AdSense and the many other types of advertising software out there can be an art. Something that I haven’t yet learnt the skills for. Though for somebody who knows these types of software like the back of their hand or can directly negotiate well with the advertisers to gain a higher CPM or better PPC campaign, investing in advertising websites would be an incredibly wise move.
4. Instead I Stick To What I know & Works For Me
Through this article, my main message is not to say that don’t invest in advertising websites and leave it at that. Because there are many people out there making an absolute fortune from advertising websites.
What I am saying is that go with something you know, something that interests you enough for you to not just invest your time into those type of websites but also your money. You don’t want to invest in advertising websites unless you want to get totally absorbed in them and start making them your bread and butter.
For me, personally that is not what I am into right now. That doesn’t exclude what the future could hold for me and my relationship with investing in advertising websites. But for now I am going to stick to what I like and what is making me good money, because why invent the wheel when you don’t have to.
